Dr. Flynne, her husband, and her three boys, yes, THREE BOYS, prefer Malibu beach days to cold New York winters, but love to go back and visit.

Dr. Melissa Grant

Dr. Melissa Grant is a board-certified pediatric dentist, raised in sunny Manhattan Beach, California. She completed her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology at UC San Diego. There, she also worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism and special needs, specializing in behavior guidance strategies and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the UCLA School of Dentistry, where she graduated summa cum laude and received the Pierre Fauchard Award as the top student in her graduating class. She then continued at UCLA to complete her residency training in pediatric dentistry in affiliation with the Ronald Reagan Medical Center. Dr. Grant is actively involved with organized dentistry, serving on committees for both local and state professional organizations, including the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry and Southern California Society of Dentistry for Children. She also volunteers her time as part of the Cleft Palate Team at St. John’s Health Center, where she helps patients with complex dental needs.

Dr. Grant always strives to provide a comfortable and fun experience for patients during their visits. She is passionate about education and prevention, and hopes to inspire families to embrace healthy habits beyond the dental office. She believes every child is unique and deserves an individually tailored approach. There’s no “one-size-fits-all” technique. She treats every patient like she would her own family, and loves to make people smile!

When she’s not in the office, she’s usually busy chasing after her very active young son! And even though she grew up by the beach, she’d choose forest trees over ocean waves any day. She and her husband love hiking, camping, and have managed to adventure their way through a majority of the country’s National Parks. Dr. Grant is also an avid home cook, and enjoys creating and sharing meals with her loved ones. She’s always looking for new recipes and restaurants to try, so send any recommendations her way!
